One of the best typewriter models for enthusiasts and writers. Stunningly beautiful East German portable typewriter from 1952. This typewriter is one of the finest typewriters ever made combining precise German mechanics and a stunningly elegant design.
*TYPEFACE: Special uncommon typeface - Medium Roman, 12cpi. The typeface of this typewriter is uncommon - it resembles ADLER's Ro. 88 Esquire which is a very beautiful typeface with curved numbers. The Medium Roman typeface was also available in 8.5 cpi as well as 12 cpi. Unique piece of collection value for it's typeface.
*COSMETICS: This typewriter is in good condition. There are 3 tiny paint scratches in various spots (front left keyboard, and both sides where the carriage advances on the rails). These minor imperfections are caused by normal use of the machine. Other than this, paint is in great shape with a smooth, shiny finish. The chrome plated metal parts look great. The machine is finished off with a protective, museum-quality wax in order to protect the paint from oxidation, dirt, scratches and fingerprints.
*MECHANICS: As with all our serviced typewriters - this one is in outstanding mechanical condition. As part of our servicing this typewriter has been thoroughly cleaned and has received new ink. It is ready to withstand many hours of heavy typing with it's smooth carriage, light keys and sturdy design.
*CASE: The case is in good condition. Cleaned and polished, it works well, although not in the best cosmetic shape, it has age signs.
*OUR RECOMMENDATION: We always recommend this model if you are planning on regular use and heavy typing. This typewriter has no other match and deserves it's own category - a true performer - built to last more than a lifetime.
All our typewriters are delivered to you ready to start typing. All machines have an installed new ink ribbon which should last at least 500 A4 pages.
