Free quote:

To get a price quote, please drop off your typewriter to our address in The Hague, The Netherlands. Please, make an appointment via email in advance and send us a photo of the typewriter before dropping it off. 

Note: We do not deal with extreme rust, electric or bigger desktop typewriters (such as heavy typewriters of more than 10kg like Hermes Ambassador, Olympia SG1, Underwood 5, etc).

Pricing:

We charge hourly. € 57.50 per hour (incl. tax) for servicing and € 64.50 per hour (incl. tax) for repair.

Servicing rates can go up depending on condition of typewriter, size, age, usage, complexity. Repair is charged separately, repairs are not part of servicing.

 

Leadtime:

Servicing takes us 3-5 work days. We will inform you when we have an open time slot for servicing.

Due to high demand please send us an email in advance and we will inform you of the current lead time. Sometimes we are fully booked in the next 4-6 weeks.

Below is a gallery showing a Royal P typewriter restored in our workshop this year. This restoration took many hours - including disassembly, replacing all rubber with new (platen, rubber rollers, rubber feet), replacing all key legends and glass key inserts, replacing springs, new noise-reducing insulation. 

 

 

Restoration:

Restoration is a complete overhaul process bringing your typewriter to the closest to  "factory new" condition. It is different from basic servicing. Restoration is a complex process, removing rust, replacing worn rubber and other parts. It takes proper tools as well as skill and takes many hours (sometimes 10+ labour hours, unlike servicing which is done in an hour or so).

Our restoration rates start at 375,- EUR for portable typewriters, and go up depending on condition of typewriter, size, age, usage, model.

If you want to have your typewriter restored (incl. new rubber platen) you can also ship it to us. We have customers shipping typewriters to us worldwide for a premium restoration.
