Do you ship internationally?

Do you accept order cancellations?

Once an order is placed and a payment is processed an order cannot be canceled anymore. If you wish you can return your order once received. If you need help with your order get in touch with us.

Will I receive a tracking code?

Once your order has been processed and shipped you will receive a tracking code to follow the status of your order.

When will my order be shipped?

Order processing time takes 1-5 business days depending on the product(s) ordered. This means your order will be shipped within 5 work days after we receive it.

Do you accept other payment methods (except for Paypal)?

Yes. On our website we only accept Paypal. Do you want to pay with VISA, Mastercard, Maestro, Klarna? Then you can send us an email with your order request – we will then share an email with an invoice and a payment link where you can pay with your debit or credit card or direct bank transfer.

Do you offer FREE shipping?

We do offer free shipping on all typewriters (unless otherwise mentioned). For all other orders, we offer standard free shipping above 50 EUR (175 EUR for USA), for odd items shipping rates may vary based on item weight and dimensions.

How long does usually shipping take?

Typewriters are shipped with priority 1-3 business days.

For all other orders it might take 1-2 days for domestic shipping Netherlands and 5-10 business days for rest of the world and 10-20 business days for USA. During holidays, postal operational difficulties, customs checks and extreme weather it might take longer. You can always check your tracking code for detailed information on the delivery date or contact us if you need more information on your order status.

Will I receive a discount on my typewriter?

With our local pick-up program, you can save an extra 10% on your typewriter price if you pick up your typewriter locally from our location. This way is also better for the planet as there is saving on shipping and packaging materials.

Do your typewriters come with a warranty?

Yes, all our typewriters come with a 1-year warranty.

Is international shipping safe?

We have shipped hundreds of typewriters and we always take great care when packaging typewriters with professional materials and insured shipping. We spent anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes carefully wrapping each typewriter in several layers of bubble wrap and packing material as well as using new double wall corrugated carton boxes so you can receive your typewriter in the same condition as we send it.

Do you offer repairs or servicing after purchase?

Yes, we do offer repairs and servicing at an hourly rate. You can drop off your typewriter for a free quote. Always make an appointment before dropping it off.

Do you sell ink ribbons?

Yes, we do sell ink ribbons for almost all typewriters. Most typewriters use GR1 spools and 12.7mm (1 inch) wide ribbons. If you are unsure which ribbon your typewriter uses, please get in touch and we will happily help you find the right ribbon for your typewriter.

Will my typewriter show signs of age or cosmetic wear?

Each typewriter is vintage and refurbished. We do our best to take realistic and detailed photos and describe any sign of age or cosmetic wear, if any. You will receive the item like you see it on the photos. Please, note slight color difference may occur from different screens.

Do your typewriters come fully serviced and working?

Yes, all typewriters have been professionally rebuilt and serviced and come ready to use with a 1-year warranty. You can start writing as soon as you receive it.

What does “serviced” mean in your shop?

In our shop, “serviced” means each typewriter is partially disassembled and carefully serviced —not just wiped down. We chemically clean all internal and external components to remove old ink, dirt, oils, and buildup, then properly lubricate all moving parts before reassembling the machine. Each mechanism is stress-tested by our technicians. The typewriter is adjusted and fine-tuned to factory specs. Every typewriter is then tested for a minimum of 30 minutes to ensure smooth operation, proper alignment, and consistent performance before it’s listed for sale. Each serviced typewriter is a guaranteed working one with 1-year warranty.

What does “restored” mean in your shop?

In our shop, “restored” means each typewriter is guaranteed to be restored professionally – this might include replacing worn out parts (like springs, levers), decals, rubber and more. For example, restored typewriters will always have new platen rubber (to improve print and protect the type bars). The restored typewriters are closest to factory new and will normally fetch higher prices. Restored typewriters may also be considered an investment as their price will always remain higher. Each restored typewriter is a guaranteed working one with a 1-year warranty.

What is the difference between “serviced” and “restored”?

A serviced typewriter is fully cleaned, lubricated, adjusted, and tested for dependable everyday use, while a restored typewriter includes part replacements and cosmetic restoration to reach near factory-new condition and higher collectible value.

Are all typewriters tested before shipping?

Yes, we always do test the typewriter before shipping and prepare a quality certificate and final inspection checklist (17-point) which guarantees the typewriter is in perfect working order.

Are the original cases included with the typewriter?

Most typewriters do come with a case – we recommend checking the listing description for details if the typewriter includes an original case or not.

Where can I buy an original case?

We understand original typewriter cases are harder to come by that typewriters. This is why we offer original cases for an extra price – if you are looking to buy one get in touch via email or WhatsApp and share your typewriter model.

How to maintain my typewriter?

Keep your typewriter covered when not in use, use it regularly, avoid oiling it yourself, and gently remove dust with a soft brush or compressed air to keep it running smoothly. We sell DIY maintenance kits with manual and tips on cleaning that will keep your typewriter running smooth which we recommend in case your typewriter cannot be serviced by a professional.

Do you offer gift wrapping or gift notes?

Yes, we do offer free of charge gift wrapping and/or custom gift note.

What should I do if my typewriter arrives damaged or out of alignment?

If in a rare case you receive your typewriter with damage or out of alignment please get in touch with us to help you further. Please, keep all documentation, packaging material, box and gifts.

Do you buy or accept trade-ins of old typewriters?

If you have a typewriter for sale please email us photos, and a short description of its condition as well as your asking price. We normally reply within 24-48 hours.

What kind of paper should I use?

Standard printer paper works great, slightly thicker paper 90-100gsm can give a nicer feel and print. Avoid coated paper or photo paper.

How long do typewriter ribbons last?

With regular use, most ribbons last several months and can often be re-inked (DIY) or replaced easily. We offer affordable nylon ribbons for almost all typewriter makes.

Can I get after-sales help if I am stuck?

We do offer free of charge before and after sales support. Contact us via email, phone or WhatsApp – we will reply in 24-48 hours.

Can I visit your workshop in The Hague?

Yes, we are happy to share our love for typewriters and offer personalized advice and product review and test in real time. We always encourage trying a typewriter before buying. This way we can also show you how the typewriter works and show you some tips and tricks to use it and keep it running smoothly. We accept visitors on appointment only so please get in touch beforehand.
