The Olivetti Valentine S - a typewriter that broke all the rules of office equipment and became a symbol of creativity and counterculture. The Valentine is a design icon from the late 1960s - this particular one comes in the famous Olivetti red.
The Valentine became a cult object: Featured in museums like MoMA, the V&A, and the Triennale di Milano.
Olivetti typewriters are one of the most common typewriters with great reputation for sturdy mechanics, comfortable to use and relatively easy to maintain. Good for beginners, too. Very easy/intuitive to operate. The Valentine S model features 45 keys and does not feature a tabulator.
*TYPEFACE: English QWERTY keyboard. 12 cpi Elite typeface. Meaning there are 12 characters (letters, symbols) in 1 inch (2.54 cm). It is a standard layout.
*COSMETICS: This typewriter is in excellent cosmetic condition! Minor to no age signs. Slight wear on the front top cover. The chrome is still in great condition. The machine is finished off with a protective, museum-quality wax in order to protect the paint from oxidation, dirt, scratches and fingerprints.
*MECHANICS: As with all our serviced typewriters - this one is in excellent mechanical condition. As part of our servicing this typewriter has been thoroughly cleaned and has received new a ink ribbon. It is ready to withstand many hours of heavy typing with it's smooth carriage, light keys and sturdy design. It has 2 ink settings - meaning you can type in 2 inks simultaneously. For example - black and red. This typewriter comes with new black/red ink and metal Olivetti spools.
*CASE: The case is plastic with 2 black straps. Cleaned and polished. The case is vintage and works 100% as expected.
*OUR RECOMMENDATION: This model is recommended for regular use. It can withstand long hours of writing.
