Hermes Baby - one of the best portable typewriter models for enthusiasts and writers and also one for the most sought after typewriters in the world. It is not without reason. The design of Hermes Baby typewriters is stunning, and it's plastic body makes it extremely lightweight - great for both travel and carrying.
*TYPEFACE: Typeface is called Pica - it types with 10 characters per inch. This is a big, elegant, readable letter font style.
*COSMETICS: This typewriter is in good cosmetic condition. Smooth, metal green paint finish. The chrome plated metal parts look great. The machine is finished off with a protective, museum-quality wax in order to protect the paint from oxidation, dirt, scratches and fingerprints. Some key age marks and scratch lines on front row (this has been reflected in the price, please see last photo for details). Small chip on V key bottom, not affecting performance or typing, simply cosmetic (can be replaced at extra cost if you seek perfect). New replaced right side knob. New felt lining. New ink ribbon. Completely refurbished, aligned, cleaned by our technicians. Including original metal spools.
*MECHANICS: This one one is in outstanding mechanical condition. As part of our restoring this typewriter has been thoroughly cleaned and has received new black/red ink. It is ready to withstand many hours of heavy typing with it's smooth carriage, light keys and sturdy design. It has new rubber feet, new felt pads, fine tuned to serve a minimum of 50 more years.
*CASE: The case is in great condition. Cleaned and polished, it works well. New printed case handle.
*OUR RECOMMENDATION: We always recommend this model if you are planning on regular use and heavy typing. This typewriter has no other match and deserves it's own category - a true performer - built to last more than a lifetime.
