Hermes Baby - one of the best portable typewriter models for enthusiasts and writers and also one for the most sought after typewriters in the world. It is not without reason. The design of Hermes Baby typewriters is stunning, and it's aluminium body makes it extremely lightweight - great for both travel and carrying. Similar to Rocket model, this is a typewriter that stands the test of time.
*TYPEFACE: Typeface is called Pica - it types with 10 characters per inch. This is a bold, readable letter font style.
*COSMETICS: This typewriter is in great condition. Crinkled metal MILITARY GRAY (khaki) paint finish. The chrome plated metal parts look great. There is some wear/slight discoloration on sides of the typewriter as well as key top wear (see photos). The machine is finished off with a protective, museum-quality wax in order to protect the paint and metal parts from oxidation, dirt, scratches and fingerprints.
*MECHANICS: As with all our restored typewriters - this one is in outstanding mechanical condition. As part of our restoring this typewriter has been thoroughly cleaned and has received new black/red ink as well as NEW felt insulation pads. It is ready to withstand many hours of heavy typing with it's smooth carriage, light keys and sturdy design. It has new rubber feet, new felt pads, fine tuned to serve a minimum of 50 more years.
*CASE: There is an original case with this typewriter. The case is in great condition. Cleaned and polished, it works well.
*OUR RECOMMENDATION: We always recommend this model if you are planning on regular use and heavy typing. This typewriter has no other match and deserves it's own category - a true performer - built to last more than a lifetime.
