I have a Hermes 3000, and although the machine came with metal spools, they never quite fit, were always just little wobbly due to a poor fit with the shorter, ancillary spindles or posts situated next to the main spool posts. Because of the less-than-perfect fit, the ribbon unspooled loosely. The machine typed fine, but this lack of aesthetic perfection annoyed me---and I wanted a perfect, vintage machine.
The "open, spoke-style" metal spools I bought from Amsterdam Typewriter were made specifically for the Hermes 3000, and fit perfectly. The ribbon unspools smoothly and with just the right amount of tension . . . and the machine, with its "hood" off, looks like the fine-tuned, high-precision word engine it is. Service was excellent; shipping was prompt; and this customer is delighted with his purchase.

I bought a set of original metal spools with a black/red ribbon for my 1961 Hermes Baby. The seller helped me confirm compatibility with my specific machine, answered my questions quickly, and even advised me on the best ribbon type for this model.

The order arrived safely and was beautifully packed, including a very nice metal storage tin for the spools and ribbon. The spools fit perfectly and the ribbon works exactly as it should.

Moulage de qualité , la forme manque un peu de rondeur. Le seul reproche à faire c est que l espace pour l axe etait un peu trop large , j ai dû mettre de la colle. J aurais preféré devoir adapter en poncant légèremét l interrieur que de mettre de la colle

Because I had a great experience ordering a typewriter tool from Amsterdam Typewriter in the recent past, I treated myself and ordered two more tools that I found on their website. Very nice tool! Arrived reasonably quickly to the US. Fair price. I will definitely be looking to order from Amsterdam Typewriter again!

The silicone-feet were easy to install, and the have a nice friction which keeps the typewriter in place.

The diameter of the spools are maybe 2-3mm too large for the metal-cased Hermes baby. I respooled to a pair of original metal-spools.

For another typewriter, I would maybe try and trim them with a knife or some sandpaper.

The ribbon and ink is as expected.
