Hermes Baby - one of the best portable typewriter models for enthusiasts and writers and also one for the most sought after typewriters in the world. It is not without reason. The design of Hermes Baby typewriters is stunning, and it's plastic body makes it extremely lightweight - great for both travel and carrying.
*TYPEFACE: Typeface is called Pica - it types with 10 characters per inch. This is a big, elegant, readable letter font style.
*COSMETICS: This typewriter is in good cosmetic condition. Smooth, metal green paint finish. The chrome plated metal parts look great. The right spool cup has a slight paint chip (see photos). The bottom has some scuffing and paint on the top has a few imperfections. The machine is finished off with a protective, museum-quality wax in order to protect the paint from oxidation, dirt, scratches and fingerprints. New felt lining. New ink ribbon. Completely refurbished, aligned, cleaned by our technicians. Including original metal spools.
*MECHANICS: This one one is in outstanding mechanical condition. As part of our restoring this typewriter has been thoroughly cleaned and has received new black cotton ink. It is ready to withstand many hours of heavy typing with it's smooth carriage, light keys and sturdy design. It has new rubber feet, new felt pads, fine tuned to serve a minimum of 50 more years.
All our typewriters are stress-tested for at least 30 minutes and undergo 14-point inspection checklist.
*CASE: The lid is in great condition. Cleaned and polished, it works well. Case handle is in great condition.
