This is a typebar bender. It is a typewriter repair tool number S6 in the AMES typewriter tools catalog.
We use it often in our workshop to align characters.
USAGE: This typebar/keylever reforming tool is used for reforming (bending) the typebar to fix letters out of alignment. It can either help bring a certain character (letter) up or down when printing on the paper.

This tool comes from the Olympia Wilhelmshaven factory in Germany which has been closed down for many decades.
