Olympia SM4 is one of the top 5 typewriter models ever produced and loved by many for good reasons. This typewriter was engineered to outlive and outperform many other semi-portable models! Olympia boasts of it's precisely engineered mechanics and the practical design of their typewriter models.
This one comes in an interesting, not very common color combination - grey-ish body and dark green keys.
*TYPEFACE: This one has an uncommon Congress Elite No. 84 typeface - 12 cpi (12 characters per inch). The keyboard has QWERTZ layout. The typeface is crisp, clean, elegant and small, good for correspondence and addressing envelopes/label making.
*COSMETICS: This typewriter is in very good condition. There is a paint loss on the top left of the ribbon cover. Other than this, the paint is in good condition. The chrome plated metal parts look very good. The color is a hue of warm beige/grey.
*MECHANICS: As with all our serviced typewriters - this one is in outstanding mechanical condition. It types as smooth as butter and looks amazing! The typewriter has been disassembled, cleaned, polished and adjusted on feet. Bell works like a charm, carriage advances smoothly. It is ready to withstand many hours of heavy typing with it's smooth carriage, light keys and sturdy design.
*CASE: No case. But you can buy a dust cover as an extra.
*ADDITIONAL INFO: This typewriter is very easy to type on, it's suitable for light users who do not like to heavily hit the keys. The keys are very responsive, light to type on, perfect distance between the rows of the keyboard which is ergonomic. This model has something unique - it features a "cushion" effect of it's keyboard - when the key is depressed - it has a slight spring movement which absorbs the pressure. Moreover, for easy writing the keys stay perpendicular to the working surface with every press which is also a very unique feature for this model.
*OUR RECOMMENDATION: We always recommend this model if you are planning on regular use and heavy typing. This typewriter is a true performer which can also be carried anywhere with you.
